nobody really needs to use the expressway lane right now. carpoolers can use the lane for free. they will need to remove the fas trak pass from their windshield and put it in that mylar bag that fas trak gave you so they won't be charged going through these expressway lanes. they've been operational for years now and very successful. more expressway lanes are planned for the bay area. the next one highway 580 in both directions and the one after that will be highway 237. reporting live along southbound 680, i'm jenelle wang. for more on the traffic situation let's go to megan marlena. >> as jenelle said, traffic nice and light. not showing delays on southbound 680 through the sunol grade. speeds are moving at the limit but we will be keeping an eye on this as the morning continues and more commuters hit the road. it will be interesting to see how this new expressway lane does affect that commute. southbound 680 now your drive time from 580 to 101 only 30 minutes. everything looking good. also westbound 237 from 880 to 101. that's a six-minute drive time. eric, kristen. >> megan,
